The salvage market these days is jumping. People are finding that salvaging older vehicles for resale is a very profitable business. And salvaging WWII vehicles is not an exception. Except the payoff could be even better than normal salvage vehicles. Mainly because these vehicles are not as accessible as the newer salvage vehicles. So where can you find salvage WWII vehicles? I doubt you will be able to go to your local junk yard and find a old WWII vehicle. These trucks and cars are most certainly long gone. The junk yards are able to get too much of a payoff from these metals to have them just sit around. No, I bet the best place to find these vehicles are in private yards.I would find put out classified ads to see if I could get a hit or two. Remember these are not cars that are abundant and easy to find.Next you will probably want to get on the internet and start searching sites like eBay or cars.com. Also, take a look in your local classifieds they may also have one or two that may just slip into site.Well, if this doesn’t work you will have to go by word of mouth. Go seek the information from historical societies or auto mechanics. They may know someone that either now were a salvage WWII vehicle is or have first hand knowledge themselves. Now, you have found your vehicle. You probably need to have parts to recondition the vehicle. Just as difficult as it was to find this vehicle you will probably have just as much problems finding parts. I would recommend that you use the same techniques as I described earlier. But this time I would start with auction sites and WWII vehicle sites. People tend to leave messages or sell parts on these sites that you will probably need.Salvaging a WWII vehicle could be a difficult and sometimes frustrating hobby. But once the tasks are all done the reward can be worth it.
